About Me: 12 lbs | 11 years | Male

Meet Hancock, he’s a sweetheart!

This adorable little guy was found wandering the streets and was picked up by the shelter who reached out to us to take him. Once in our care, he received some much needed medical care, was bathed and groomed and now he’s the handsome poodle you see here.

Hancock’s teeth were in terrible shape and he ended up losing most of his them. He also had crystals in his urine and is now taking a daily food additive to manage that. Hancock is selective about his canine friends and might be happiest as an only dog.  He does, however, get along well with some of his foster siblings as long as they respect his space. He is nearly blind and is cautious when other dogs approach him but he appears to see a whole lot better when he detects cats in the room and has no trouble at all pinpointing their locations. He should be placed in a home without cats.

He’s delightful with humans and loves attention, especially if he’s getting it on a lap. Hancock is a young senior who’s housebroken, lively, active and engaged and despite his poor eyesight he gets around very well.  He has no problem finding food and laps (and those cats). He loves sniffing around outdoors, but leash walking is not his thing. He’ll need a fenced yard where he can sniff and explore in safety.

Hancock’s adoption fee is $300. If you’re interested in adopting Hancock, please submit an application to be considered. Hancock will require a fenced-in yard and a home without cats and small children.
