Betty White is a sweet 8 year old, 15 pound poodle terrier mix who ended up at the shelter because her owner could no longer take care of her. She was very stressed at the shelter, so they reached out to us to see if we could take her. Now that Betty is in a foster home, she is happy and affectionate! She loves stuffed toys and will carry them around in her mouth and throw them into the air playfully. She is always up for a game of fetch and then will want to cuddle up next to you when she’s done.
Betty rides quietly in the car and walks well on a leash. She was the only dog in her previous home and loves attention, so she would do best being the the one and only in her new home. She has not been around children, so she will be placed in an adult only home. Betty would like to have someone home during the day to spend lots of quality time with her. She would benefit from training where she can build a bond with her new owner and learn to respect and trust them. A dog savvy person who has experience with insecure dogs would be ideal.
Betty has allergies, but her symptoms are currently being well managed with medication. Betty used to get injections for her allergies, which resulted in her being fearful of the vet. So her new vet will have to take it slow with her or use a soft muzzle when she has to be handled during appointments.
Betty is up-to-date on her vaccinations, is heartworm negative, and is spayed. Her adoption fee is $400. If you are interested in giving Betty a forever home, please visit our website to complete an online application.
